Cleveland Clinic has created a partnership with Amazon’s One Medical to bring new primary care clinics to northeast Ohio. The first clinic will open in 2025 with plans for future expansion, according to a press release. One Medical has membership-based services with a targeted focus on employer groups, now covering employee populations for about 10,000 employers. It provides same-day appointments and virtual care to members with a $199 annual fee (or $99 for Amazon Prime members), and it also accepts major insurance plans. Across the country, One Medical currently partners with about 20 health systems for specialty care referrals. According to Becker’s, while no financial details were released for the Cleveland Clinic affiliation with One Medical, at least 1 other health system partner says it collects fee-for-service revenue from patient visits then reimburses One Medical for providing care.

Major market reach: Amazon acquired One Medical in 2023 for $3.9 billion, and it operates more than 240 primary care clinics in at least 21 markets. Cleveland Clinic’s empire stretches far beyond Ohio with 23 hospitals and 276 outpatient facilities worldwide.
