As cases of COVID-19 (and restrictions like social distancing) took hold in the United States, an interesting thing happened. Spread of many other communicable diseases declined. Sexually transmitted infections were among them. Conversely, as the pandemic has cooled down and people are returning to past behaviors, STIs are surging to prepandemic levels—and beyond. To make matters worse, a lot of STI specialty clinics that used to shoulder much of the assessment-and-treatment burden have shut down. It’s likely that many patients who would have gone there will be visiting urgent care instead. So, JUCM is pleased to host a webinar, Managing STIs in the Urgent Care Setting, led by Glenn Harnett, MD on Monday, December 5, 2–3 pm, Eastern. The presentation will be followed by a live Q&A session. JUCM is able to invite you to attend at no charge thanks to the sponsorship of Visby. For more information and to register, click here.
