A national survey of 1,000 men conducted by Cleveland Clinic highlighted generational differences regarding men’s health. Nearly 40% of Gen Z men (born between 1997 and 2005) do not have a regular primary care physician. Consequently, many in this group are unsure if they’ve ever had their blood pressure, cholesterol, or weight checked. While 61% Gen X (born 1965-1980) and baby boomer (born before 1965) men say they get a yearly physical, just 32% of millennials (born 1981-1996) and Gen Z men say the same. The survey also explored where men across generations seek health information. While healthcare providers are considered a top source for respondents, 33% of Gen Z men turn to social media for health information.

Opportunity for UC: Urgent care has an opportunity to market to Gen Z men and influence their choice of go-to provider. No doubt as this population increasingly enters the workforce, they’ll have greater access to benefits through employer-sponsored health plans.
