Over half of workers in the United States are “not engaged” in their jobs, and another 17% are “actively disengaged,” according to a Gallup poll. In other words, only about three in every 10 employees are really on point at any given time in a workplace—including, possibly, your urgent care center. The data also show, however, that organizations that make an effort to foster employee engagement have happier, more satisfied employees. And it’s not because they make more money and work shorter hours; rather, it’s because their talent, strengths, and unique perspectives are put to good use and appreciated. Megan Fontenot, director of operations at UC Health Integrity Urgent Care in Colorado Springs, CO, will dig deeper into this important topic during an hour-long webinar entitled Effectively Engaging Employees in the Urgent Care Setting, starting at 1 pm, Central on Thursday, November 17. The event is being hosted by the Urgent Care Association (UCA). Cost is $50 for UCA members and $70 for nonmembers (including a recording of the webinar).
