UT Health East Texas has completed the acquisition of 5 QuickVisit Urgent Care clinics plus a separate acquisition of the UT Health East Texas Urgent Care from Premier Health. According to a press release, patients who need follow-up care at these newly added sites will have a fast-track option to see a UT Health East Texas physician or affiliated specialist. It’s a model not uncommon among health systems to encourage loyalty by making it easy for urgent care patients to see other providers within its own system.
Meeting patients where they’re at: “UT East Texas Health is an academic medical center that operates 10 hospitals serving a largely rural area. QuickVisit was founded in 2020 by Stan Bevis who pioneered the concept of scaled urgent care in rural markets,” says Alan Ayers, MBA, MAcc, president of Experity Consulting and Senior Editor of JUCM. QuickVisit operates in 15 cities across rural Texas and Iowa, according to the company website.
