Diagnosis: Lunate Dislocation
Lunate dislocations occur from forceful dorsiflexion of the wrist. The dislocation is often missed on AP films, but can usually be seen as a “spilled teacup” on the lateral view (as seen here). Urgent surgical repair of torn ligaments is paramount to recovery. Long-term complications (pain/arthritis) are common.
